Recycle – Re-use – Replace!
Toner Cartridges from printer imaging products could save you around 20% per year in both cost savings and print quality.
I used to use recycled toner cartridges from a local store, but i was never really sure of the quality of the toner cartridge and after a while i would see either a line running down the entire page or some of the print was missing or blurred.
The quality of your printers, fax machines, and copiers is really important because it is going to affect the overall appearance of the documents or pictures.
Toner cartridges today, play a vital role in being able to have quality documents or pictures every single time.
At one time printers were the larger cost to printing a letter or any other office statement, but over the last 5-10 years printers have come down considerably in price, making even the least fortunate home user able to purchase a high quality color laser printer.
But, the printing inks have skyrocketed in price. making the print job more expensive.
Most toner cartridges will last quite a long time though, so this isn’t something you will be replacing weekly, unless you are printing several thousand pages a week. The busiest offices will likely only have to change toner cartridges every couple of months for the best results. Others will find they last up to a year due to the lower volume of use on their office equipment.
The real question here is.
“What sort of replacement to use”?
There are of course three options for most toner cartridge users…
- New Cartridge
- Re-cycled – common term for refilled.
- Re-Manufactured.
Which is best for you, is really a question of price.
- New cartridge from the printer supplier or retail store are the most expensive.
- Recycled is about 20% cheaper for the cartridge.
- Re-manufactured. Cost about the same as recycled.
Benefits to the different choices:
- New Toner Cartridge are usually guaranteed to work first time and offers a high number of quality prints given a certain page covering of 5% print.
- Recycled Toner Cartridges. Not usually guaranteed by the original printer manufacturer. Often has a 1 in 4 fail rate according to OEM and will sometimes drop toner into the print mechanisms. As well as smudge the print quality.
- Re-Manufactured Toner Cartridges are as good as new in most instances. These cartridges are taken apart, cleaned thoroughly. The rollers are scraped, as are the scraper blades. New toner is added to the original manufacturers specifications and the unit is then rebuilt – tested and released. Thereby offering a very similar print quality to the new cartridge at approximately 20% savings per year.
